Pranayama

Pranayama

Prana means power, breath, or the force of life. A key aspect of yoga has long been the learning to focus and regulate prana in the body. Breathing is an automatic act, as an integral body feature. While we can’t regulate whether we are breathing or not, we can control the way we breathe to some extent. The centre of pranayama practice is exercises of breath modulation, such as breath holding and intentional inhalation and exhalation techniques for various mental and physical benefits.
